Where Storage Efficiency Guarantees DO NOT Apply (NetApp)

Don't use the efficiency guarantee for:

- image archives
- movies archives
- or any other pre-compressed or pre-encrypted data

Note: No storage vendor can achieve storage efficiency savings with pre-compressed or pre-encrypted data!

Also, don't just multiply the raw storage by 3. Need to account for:

- ONTAP overheads
- spares
- Write Anywhere File Layout (WAFL) reserves
- etcetera
