Banks and AI and AI Governance 😢

NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights (DII) AI Assistant is cool (if your Enterprise lets you enable it without too much pain.)

Recently, I've been involved in processing the internal AI governance processes for a large global bank, to enable us to flick the switch on NetApp's Data Infrastructure Insights (DII) to enable its AI Assistant.

And I must say, the bank's internal governance process is about the most horrific bit of bureacracy and administration I have ever faced. I am not an administrator. I hate bureacracy. So for me trying to keep nudging this goddam awful process along has been a nightmare. I've utterly hated every second of this bullshit governance. I simply don't give a damn, I just want to flick the switch and let users of DII use the AI Assistant, which will be a great benefit to them.

To enable the AI Assistant in DII takes barely seconds to do.

The governance process so far has dragged on for over 6 months. And never at any time has anyone, any human being, asked what we are trying to do and questioned whether the months of bullshit process is really worth it.

Also, I do worry about the people who create these process. I find it hard to imagine how boring and evil one must be to invent such horrifically boring and anal processes. How can someone create a process they know is going to put their colleagues through untold pain and misery!?

A simple slider to enable/disable the AI Assistant in DII

Once enabled, the AI Assistant is available via the blue star. And very powerful.
