IBM Cognos - Query (SQL) Ordering is Not Following Through to the Cognos Report

If you find with you your Cognos reports that the ordering in the SQL query is not following through to Cognos, there are a couple of ways to try fixing it:

1) Make sure 'Auto group & summarize' is not set to 'Yes':


2) You can use the "Sort in Layout" option in the report to ensure ordering is correct:
